the first thing you learn is to hang on (EXPLORED)
This is Eudoxia and her new baby Carlo. He was born on January 7th.
Our family of Coquerel Sifakas (type of lemur) , is on loan to Philadelphia Zoo from Duke University, where they are doing an ongoing study of these guys and funding their breeding program.
Some sad news to report. Back in February of 2011, Eudoxia and her mate Zeno, gave birth to little baby Polamalu. (I have pictures of him, somewhere back in my photostream).
Sadly, this past fall daddy Zeno unexpectedly passed away. An autopsy reveled that he had some kind of genetically passed disease. After his passing it was discovered that Eudroxia was pregnant with Carlos, which offered some small measure of joy, after the loss of dear Zeno. Unfortunately, Polamatu also developed the disease and suddenly died. We were all majorly heartbroken.
Let's all say a prayer that little Carlo will be spared, and live a long and healthy life.
