I'm fixing a hole where the rain gets in...

Okay! So THIS is why I've been M.I.A. the past couple of days.

My kitchen roof was falling in!!

Ah! The joys of living in an old house!

The farmhouse itself is somewhere around 250 yrs. old....give or take a few.

The kitchen was an addition built onto the back of the house somewhere in the early 40's, making it about 70 yrs. old.

The wood underneath the roof started to rot. 8-(

We've had a leak on and off since springtime, which Larry kept addressing, and temporarily fixing..

A small bandage for a big boo boo!

The past couple of storms made it imperative to figure out just WHERE the damned leak was actually coming from and fix it once and for all!

In the end, Larry had to put a whole new roof on.

Now we are ripping down the old ceiling....omg, what a mess!

Well be putting in all new insulation, and I've already picked out a new beadboard looking ceiling.
