waiting for dinner
It was practically dark when I pulled into the driveway late yesterday afternoon, but I could see a few deer moving over in the field, so I ran to grab my camera to see if I could get a few shots before I lost all the light. When I got back over to the edge of the field, the deer had disappeared, but I did see the fox. She was sitting very still, fixated on something in the tangle of bushes and vines across the field from me.
I wanted to move closer, but if I had stepped into the field, she'd have been gone in a flash, so I settled for a long shot and then quietly left her to find her dinner.
