Civilian War Dead who ‘Died’ on 19/08/1940 at Scottow, (RAF Coltishall) Aerodrome. Lawrence was the husband of Laura A. M. Stone, of Church Cottages, Horstead.

Coltishall Aerodrome was bombed at 1456 hours and an unfinished hangar was hit and slightly damaged. Several civilian casualties were caused, but the aerodrome itself is intact and no aircraft were damaged.

Roy Alfred Jones
Private, 14217383, 2nd Battalion Royal Norfolk who was ‘Killed in action’ on 05/05/1944 at the age of 23. Roy was the son of Alfred Norman and May Elizabeth Jones, of Crostwick near Norfolk. He is now laid to rest in grave 2. A. 11 of KOHIMA WAR CEMETERY in India.
