Laying Eggs

Possibly Common Hawker, although maybe a Brown Hawker. It did not seem large enough for that. The wings have colour. We saw lots of Blue ones. Saw several Southern Hawker I had to zoom a long way, the sun was the wrong angle and I was standing on a rather steep bank so not the best photo. I have never seen this species laying egs before.

A lovely stroll to the pond. Lots of Dragonflies, lots of fish jumping, a Heron, Red Admiral. Lots of Swallows and a couple of fungi. A lovely natter with an Eastern European gentleman who was fishing with no luck, we didn't tell him about all the fish at the other side of the pond. We were lamenting the amount of rubbish left behind by assholes, never seen so much there in 47 years.
