Oat and Wholemeal Soft Dinner Rolls

I saw this recipe on Utube.

It was the wettest dough I have ever worked with. They have turned out well and taste lovely while warm, cold. they are even better.

Converting from cups was a palaver. So I will put English measurements.

1 sachet dried yeast

4 1/2oz oatmeal flour

4 1/2oz plain flour

4 1/2oz Wholemeal flour

Level Tablespoon Honey

half teaspoon salt

Half pint water

Quarter pint milk

2oz butter

eggwash and a few Oats

 

Method

Melt butter in milk and water

Cool to tepid and add honey. Mix well. Add 1 sachet dried yeast and leave to sit for 10 minutes.

Mix all dry ingredients.

Add milk mixture and mix until it start to become less sticky, knead as best you can for about 10 minutes.

Put to prove in a warm place for about 1 hour.

Knock down the dough cut and shape and put on a greased baking tray.

Prove for 45 minutes

Coat with eggwash sprinkle a few oats on top

Cook for approx 20 minutes at 200 C
