Tippy-Top(RAWR)

The veeery tippy-top of a tree!

So here's the long story behind the photo: I was strolling(contentedly) across the yard when I had a flash of brilliance!(a rarity to be sure) Professional photomographers shoot in RAW don't they? (now I prefer RAWR, a lesser known yet wonderful format) So I tried shooting in RAW. So far, so good. I went inside, and stuck my SD card into my laptop. It wouldn't read RAW files. Neither would GIMP. Foiled! So I looked around the internet, and found a program called 'Raw Therapee' (okay Dan, that's enough with the brackets) It was slow, which was my computers fault(I still love you). Of course, it crashed. I got it running long enough to convert the RAW files to jpeg's, and opened them in GIMP. The sheer amount of noise was atrocious. In fact, you may still see some noise in there. I messed around for a bit, and figured out how to use a selective gaussian blur to rid the photomograph of most of the noise. And so here we are, if you managed to read this far. Was it worth it?
