The Houston section of the Inter-American is in the siding on the SP at Tower 17.
After the Lone Star was discontinued in October 1979 a deal was made for a Houston-Temple section of the Inter-American which would combine with the main section at Temple. Here it is using Amfleet equipment but would use Superliners later. It wouldn't last long since the Houston section was discontinued a few months later in October.
The I-A will come out of the siding to the SP main but for only 10-20 feet before running on the connecting track to the Santa Fe which crosses in front of the tower.
