Spaceship Project 2

Traveling to distant planets can mean the sacrifice of everyday sites that can easily be taken for granted. Each of these photos that I have chosen for this assignment was based on my daily routine and items that I associate with. I chose to display my digital photographs of the sky with a city view, a beautiful plant, a white flower, a fish tank scene and an Oreo Cookie package. Though there are many other items that I took pictures of, I felt that these five pictures had the best display qualities as well as special importance to me in my everyday life.

The first photo is the view from my room balcony that I look at each morning when I open the curtains and each night when I close them. I decided to use the daytime view with a horizontal framing to capture some fore front scenery to compliment the view if the down town San Jose buildings further away. I would greatly miss this view as apart of my daily routine and didn’t realize how important it was to be prior to this project. I would most definitely like to use this photo on the right hand wall on my spaceship.

I also love the water very much. I chose to take a picture of my mom’s fish tank. This would also be on my right hand wall as well because the sky and the water will be my items I miss most about earth. There is something really serene about the water and the fish and I felt that I capture a great interpretation of the tank.

I decided to use other nature photos of a plant and a flower and of my favorite cookie, the Oreo. I chose different compositions and angles for different items to capture these items in their most enticing state.

I literally felt sad about this assignment thinking what I would do and how I would feel if I could not have my everyday pleasures that I have become accustomed too. Learning to capture these settings effectively is something I feel more confident about, after doing this Spaceship Project. Thank God it’s just for imagination.
