Escape?
My buddy, Val, demonstrating the proper panicked mindset and proper hand placement on the emergency escape hatch. We were, however, somewhat puzzled by the concept of the escape hatch... It's on the open-air deck of the car ferry, so in an emergency, instead of walking forward a few feet and hopping into the ocean, you are supposed to open a hatch and drop into the ocean underneath the ship??...
