Pa Ndau
This coverlet is an example of the traditional needlework of the Hmong people from Laos, many of whom immigrated to the US after the Viet Nam war. It is not technically a quilt as there is no batting between the layers.
The name Pa Ndau, pronounced pon dow, means flower cloth. Traditional patterns are made using reverse applique, applique and embroidery. The designs are always colorful!
