Calligraphic Snowflake

I'm hoping we get some actual snow before the end of the hunt, but in the meantime I'm posting this one from my Christmas tree.

Here's the information that came with it from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York some years ago. "The delicate, lacy design of this ornament is based on a calligraphic design in an engraving by Jean de Beaugrand, published in France in 1604. The museum's ornament is photoetched in brass and bonded with white enamel."
