The Girl Who Stayed Silent

Powerful artwork spotted in the Johannesburg CBD – Wings story of hope. The description to the artwork I left as is – it adds to the rawness of the piece.

The Girl Who Stayed Silent

She was raped at the age of seven she felt venerable and scared to mention it to anyone. And she felt as if her joy was fading away slowly. She was all alone and insecure and though (sic) she felt if she cant tell anyone about it they would pity her. She went on trying to forget about her traumatic event but it was the wound to her emotion and mind. Because physical she could heal but mentally it was haunting her.

But till then as time went on she couldn’t live in that traumatic memories no more, it was when after a period of time she met someone who understood her pain and loved her unconditionally and gave her a second chance in life. She healed and now knows how to live with herself again she accepted what happened to her she moved on to retain her dignity.

“Time inflicted, time healed”
