Honduras Root Causes 2019 - Report Back in San Francisco
June 6, 2019
In March, a delegation of nearly 75 interfaith leaders and immigrant justice advocates traveled to Honduras to meet with grassroots organizations and local leaders working and advocating for the rights of urban communities, farmers, and families in a setting of poverty with a real and constant threat of violence. The delegation explored factors that are forcing migrants to flee, including: environmental degradation, government corruption, U.S. complicity, and impunity for ongoing human rights violations.
On June 6th, a panel of delegates shared inspiring images and stories of resistance and resilience from Honduran community partners in their defense of land and life and discussed how we can support their resistance.
