No space for console table

We used this Ikea shelf in our narrow hall where there is no space for a console table.

 

It is our 'Command Central' where we charge mobiles (you can just see the two wires in the photo), keep our keys etc. Batteries, gas meter key and work passes are kept in the drawers below.
