Fllying Beagle Lego EV3 Robot with Grabber Option
This "Fllying Beagle" Lego Mindstorms EV3 robot is useful for FIRST Lego League (FLL) and World Robot Olympiad (WRO) missions. It utilizes big Lego 11957 "Tire 100.6mm D. Motorcycle" ( www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11957#T=C ) parts on 88517 "Wheel 75mm D. x 17mm Motorcycle" ( www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=88517&... ). Two EV3 Large Motors power the wheels and two EV3 Medium Motors power the attachments via a "gear train" of yellow 32072 "Technic Knob Wheel" ( www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=32072#T=C ) parts. Optional front hooks (green and orange) can be independently operated via the Knob Wheel gear trains, or one EV3 Medium Motor (shown in purple) can be used on the optional "Lego EV3 Grab and Lift by RobotECK" ( www.flickr.com/photos/42988571@N08/35714375254/in/datetak... ). The grabber pinches an object and lifts it up, and is attached to the robot via four red 3L Technic Pins with Stop Bushes. There are two EV3 Color Sensors for line following and one EV3 Gyro Sensor for navigation. The EV3 programmable brick is low and the buttons are accessible; two ball bearings stabilize the rear. The Lego Digital Designer (LDD) .lxf Building Instruction file, plus Parts List, is available on Rebrickable: www.rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-9627/DLuders/fllying-beagle-... .
