Day 20 - He Loves Ariel
Close to 30 minutes, if you don't count all the thinking, looking for photos and waiting for glue to dry. So much easier than back in the day when we'd endlessly cut paper to get an effect like this. And yes, I just happen to have a bucket of crushed shells from the beach in my basement!
Journaling: Somewhere around the age of three, you developed a thing for Ariel from The Little Mermaid. You thought she was the most beautiful girl on earth. You wanted Ariel dolls, but nothing else. You talked to her and brushed her hair, took her in the tub, slept with her, I even saw you kissing her goodnight a few times. There were never any other dolls, no other Ariel "stuff", just Ariel herself. The rest of the time you played with Legos and Power Raingers and trains, normal boy stuff. When we went to Disney just before you turned four, we stood in line 45 minutes to see Ariel in her Grotto.....twice. It was one of your favorite memories of that trip. Eating out one day I watched you stare in awe at a young lady (teenager) with long hair and a long flowing skirt. You told me she was beautiful. She wasn't, she just had long hair and flowing skirts...like Ariel. I realized you had a very healthy fixation with Ariel - your first crush.
