Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico
Acoma Pueblo is a Native American pueblo approximately 60 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The photo was taken in Sky City (Old Acoma), located on a mesa. About 300 two- and three-story adobe buildings stand on the mesa, with exterior ladders used to access the upper levels, where residents live. Approximately 30 people live permanently in Sky City, which has no electricity nor running water.
