This photo from Rita depicts so many of my favourite things about photography. I have a shared love for forest, especial when they are full of deciduous trees like this. Here we see, in an almost fanciful way , the golden trees of Autumn with a rare coating of snow. Just missing a deer or owl in the scene but I do hear the rustle of leaves and song of birds in the background. I could live with this. Thank you and well done Rita.

Here in Britain we are blessed by having many marvellous lakes and lochs. This is reminiscent to some of our Lake District and Scottish views but with a certain difference that is hard to quantify. Martin and this Lake of Sils in the Swiss canton of Engadin touches my very soul with this tranquil setting. The foreground tree with the branch, oh so perfect beckons me to these misty mountains and waters. I can feel my feet getting wet....
Very well done for this moment of magic, Martin

A landscape that expresses the very essence of Summer. In some ways a real subject for a water-colour painting here reminding me of some of the similar fields I have seen in Britain. This wide format really suits the subject, giving it a breadth in fitting with the size of the field. Of course the lighting shares honours too, love it! One for my wall perhaps. Well done Steve.

This landscape by Wilma is for me almost the classic piece of work. I have in my possession some water-colour books of landscape paintings and this could grace many of their pages. A 'moody sunset' does not do it enough justice more like 'Heavens light'. Love it to bits. My greatest accolade, "I wish it was mine". Very well done Wilma

A walk along water and trees is not everyone's idea of perfection but when a scene like this presents itself, it has to be captured, and captured well. Hama-Annex has managed to do just that with this delightful landscape, encapsulating all that is great about our hobby. A pleasure to have it grace this gallery.

Iceland, land of ice, fire, water and dreams. Ota has captured the essence of this place here so excellently that I feel that I have to re-access my own landscape qualities. Love the slow shutter speed waters, Island? and foreground rocks. In fact there is nothing on here not to like. Very Impressive. Very well done indeed.

Sometimes our hobby takes real effort, besides great skills and patience. Stevens wonderful Buttermere Panoramio proves all that. Who in their right mind in driving snow and bitter winds would fix their camera on a tripod, (a feat alone, to bring that way up here) then take at the very least, a five shot series for a panorama stitch like this. I take my hat off to you Steven. Your efforts were obviously well worth while. I love this as I am sure others do too.
Congratulations, Steven

A simple photo that is almost painting-like gives this charming scene something special. It certainly looks at its best in full screen delivering subtle harmonic colours along the very soft lighting present. The clouds and reflections share the same hints of purple that raise this one way over the average vista. Love it! Congratulations.

Simply Wonderful! Although the real subject is the lighthouse itself, the landscape and lighting captured here by Carlos cries out for inclusion into this selective group. Taken in Spain, one forgets that such structures exist there. The feeling of this capture conveys a sense of a Fantasy story but the mind soon wanders when studying this. For me, a lover of landscapes coupled with HDR, this is the apex of my dream photography.
Congratulations Carlos, I promise to keep a further eye on your work from now on.

I don't get to the Swiss Alps as much as I would like but when I do, to get photos like this is my greatest ambition. This beautiful mountain vista so typical of our Alps makes me want to catch a plane tomorrow. Taken in the Canton of Appenzell this needs to be seen large to truly appreciate the splendid lighting not only towards the sunset but on the rocky peaks and nearby grasses too. Martin, to call this 'Just a Sunset' is a gross deception of what it really is - a stunner! - I salute you!

Winter is a special time for us landscape photographers. Its generally very cold and uncofortable getting to just the right spots for that better than aberage shot. Paul here has managed it perfectly. This shot of Buachaille Etive Mor, one of the best known and loved of all the Munro peaks here on the Isle of Skye in Scotland is wonderful. Not only capturing this mountain perfecly but in such lighting conditions too. I just breath here in envy of such tallent. Thanks Paul for sharing your journeys and hobby.
