Superpowers
"I'm pretty convinced my camera has superpowers. It staves off depression when it shows me how raindrops on a spider web glisten like diamonds, it wards off my evil hermit-like tendencies when I am out and about, and it gives me a sense of purpose when I have forgotten my place in this world. "

And I'm pretty convinced that I could have written these words myself. Driving to work today, on a misty foggy morning, I noticed, along an entire stretch of road, many spider webs glistening between the parallel power lines, and even more where there were lamp posts. I wondered if all the years of carrying a camera around and seeing through the lens had trained my eyes to notice such things. I wondered who else would notice this on their drive to work. It was really quite amazing. So, when I got to work... I asked .... no one had seen the spider webs. Hmmm.... and I'm pretty certain that had I had my camera in the car with me this morning, I would have been late for work and I can't imagine how other people didn't notice!
My camera has trained me to make the best of all types of weather and conditions and to find amazing things when other may see nothing. My camera has brought me some special friendships, has taken me to interesting places and has kept me company when I am alone. My camera has taught me to see the beauty in everyday things. Yes, my camera, too.... has superpowers!
