lunar rewards
Ok... I can't get a moon shot right to save my life. There, I admit it.
Moving right along.... the rewards to running in the dark are many. One morning last week, I got to see the moon rise, and it was fabulous and then later in the week, I saw this sliver of a moon at night. If I hadn't been running, I would have missed it because there is no way I would have been out there. (The real thing looked far more impressive than this photo.)
Other good things about running in the dark....
The night sky. Stars. Say no more! it's awesome!
You can wear pajamas if you want! I haven't yet, but I have thought about it. There's no one else out there... no one can see you. No one cares anyway, but my pajamas are warm...it could happen.
There's no one else around so you never have to interrupt your run to talk to someone...or even worse.... give directions. UGh.
It's quiet and it smells good.... fireplaces are going in the evening.
I get to use my favorite flashlight. (Flashlights are also one of my favorite things. I have no explanation for this.)
No one can see the pained expression on my face. Afterall, I never said I'm enjoying this. I still hate running.
But I think I'm getting better. And Dayna sends me encouraging text messages because she can't believe I'm still doing this either. So, that makes it all worthwhile. Kind of.
This may all be history when I get up tomorrow and it's 10F with a subzero windchill. I can hardly wait.
