ZAT Phase 2 (Zombie Apocalypse Training)

Today didn't exactly go as planned. I was expected to go to Drew University to see my friend, who is now 78 yrs old, play in the Alumni baseball game and get a hit on the first pitch in the first inning, as promised by him to me... a long running argument (over 20 yrs) where I was taught by my dad to always take the first pitch and he was taught by a coach, "if the first one's in there, bust it." It rained. I couldn't get any info on whether the game was on or not. Couldn't decide whether to make the drive or not, but fortunately made the right decision and went. The game, as it turned out, was cancelled. I was lucky enough to find my friend walking off the baseball field (well maybe, with my track record I should say simply...I was lucky enough to find the baseball field, period!) while I was walking on (this is one of my biggest fears... going someplace alone and trying to find someone...mission accomplished! YEY!) So, I stayed there for the afternoon, met his family and friends and heard some amazing and amusing stories and watched as younger players came up and introduced themselves to him (because he is legendary!), all while being introduced as "this is my girlfriend, Torrie, my wife is in the car. (obviously sense of humor plays a large role in my selection of friends!) A fun day and so happy to see my friend again.

From there, met Dayna at the shooting range because she has her gun permit and wanted to shop for a gun. We ended up shooting. I of course, chose the zombie target. Did OK...but was pretty much a total idiot and practically needed the gun range attendant to hold my hand... ugh... needed help with everything...putting the bullets in the magazine... putting the magazine in the gun... holding the gun. He stood behind me as I took the first shot and I am sure he was amazed that I hit the target at all.... let alone putting it almost dead center. It was downhill from there. I was not comfortable and looking at this photo I can tell why my arms hurt when I was done. Ugh....ZAT Phase 2 is going to be a lot of work!
