tree trunk

This tree was in the "spice of life" loop at the McBryde Gardens, Kauai, Hawaii. The trunk was about 4 feet in circumference and I have no idea what the tendrils were - part of the tree or symbiotic plants? It was really neat, though, especially the way the sunlight was hitting it.
