GE Searcher 2 plus 2 Radio VHF-UHF Tuning
Close-up of the VHF-UHF tuning knobs, scan indicators and controls on the General Electric Searcher 2 plus 2 Radio. Tuning is accomplished by manually selecting a scan channel, choosing the band and rotating the tuning knob below. The frequency shows on the indicator on the right as you tune, which doubles as a battery condition indicator.
Back when you had to buy crystals to monitor frequencies in a scanner radio, this was great to have since you could tune the frequencies and scan through them like a crystal-controlled scanner.
When public safety services were using analog radios here I got good results with this. Today, they have all switched to digital trunking so not much to monitor on it now.
