Sarah Fors
#EIUFamily, meet c, a sophomore from Batavia,IL. She is majoring in elementary education with a minor of Spanish. Her dream career is to teach in a bilingual 3rd grade classroom.
She is involved with many different activities such as being a coach for "Girls on the Run," a part of Pine and Jack Honors College, a member of the Illinois Student Reading Council, a tutor for Amigos & Friends, and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. For "Girls on the Run" 5k, Sarah is couching 4th-6th grade girls that are getting ready for the run while teaching them confidence skills along with other skills.Through her involvement, Sarah has met many different people from different groups while keeping her busy. She prefers to be doing something with her time.
She chose EIU for its home-like community as well as its education program. "I knew living in a dorm my first year was really my only option but I met a ton of good friends on my floor as well as in my chapter house."
Sarah advises #FuturePanthers to not procrastinate! In her experience she said, "I am someone who just freaks out when I have a ton to do and little time and I then don’t get anything done. It just builds so much stress." So take care of yourself and plan out your schedule while getting used to university life!
Congratulations, Sarah on being a ROE! We cannot wait to see you succeed more on campus and work to get our dream career!
