Sofia Martin
Meet Sofia Martin, this week's #ResidentofEIU! She is from Mokena, IL and is an FCS major and minoring in aging studies.
When we asked her why she choose to live on campus, Sofia said "Living on campus made me feel like I was welcomed to my brand new home for the next four years. Especially Andrews Hall because everyone on my floor always make me feel happy and they also have a lot of respect towards my personality." She also likes being able to run on campus and keep her running goals.
"The EIU faculty has always been there for me when I needed advice about my classes or just wanted to check in on me. That means so much to me! I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work and energy to make me get to where I am today at EIU."
I used to be in SCEC last semester and will be shadowing at an elderly home soon. She also is a part of Hall Council at her hall, #AndrewsHall. "My involvement on campus made me feel like a real Panther because this college wants all of us to get out there and have fun every once in a while. That is what I love about campus life!"
"I cannot wait for what the future holds for me as an EIU student and I am looking forward to what I choose to do with the elderly," Sofia said about what she looked forward at EIU.
Congratulations, Sofia Martin, on being this week's ROE. We hope that your shadowing at the retirement home goes well and you find the career path you are looking for!
