Shannon Watkins
Meet Shannon Watkins!
Shannon is a transfer student from Chicago, Illinois and majors in Elementary Education!
She currently serves as President of Ford Hall Council, an Usher in Doudna Fine Arts Center, and a Desk Assistant in McKinney Hall.
Shannon said, “Through my involvement I have gained a ton of leadership experience. EIU RHA has allowed me to meet new people that I may not have met on my own and have a say-so when it comes to making changes for on-campus living.”
She chose to live on campus because it was a way for her to get acclimated with the university and meet new people.
We are so happy Shannon chose to live on campus - She has been a great asset to housing at EIU!
When asked what advice she would give future Panthers she said “ Future Panthers, EIU is like a home away from home! Your professors, RA’s, and ARD’s all genuinely care about your well-being, which is most important when you are away from home. Most of the majors here allow you to earn hands on experience, therefore, you are more prepared when going into the workforce or graduate school.”
Thanks Shannon for devoting your time to helping residents on campus! We know you are going to be a great teacher!
