Amber Salutric

Amber is from Lockport, Illinois and in the Eastern Illinois University Sandra and Jack Pine Honors College as a Degree-Double Major in Communication Disorders and Sciences & Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies.

She currently has two on-campus jobs as a Resident Assistant in Andrews Hall, and a Telecounselor/Student Caller for EIU’s Admissions Office. Amber also serves as President of Best Buddies, a member of NSSLHA (EIU National Student Speech Language Hearing Association) & the Social Justice League, a coordinator for the after school program at Newman Catholic Center, a tutor for Amigos and Friends, and a mentor for the STEP (Students with Autism Transitional Education Program).

As you can see Amber is the true definition of a Panther! She has definitely left a mark on EIU’s Campus and the Charleston community!

She said “Getting involved on campus was the best decision I made since starting at EIU! It made me feel like I was more than just a number, that I was actually a part of EIU and that I could make a difference with my involvement. It made EIU a place that I can now truly call home because of my involvement on campus, outside of the classroom.”

Amber you have definitely made a difference and have helped make EIU home to many others.

When asked why she likes living on campus she said because of the friendships she has formed and the convenience!
