Tucker Michels

#EIUfamily, meet our #ResidentofEIU of the week, Tucker Michels, a transfer student from Olney, IL. He is a psychology major with a sociology minor and hopes to work in Child Welfare!

What he loves about living on campus is the "sense of belonging" and how close he feels with people. Campus has a "small-town feel" to it. He explained. Tucker is a Desk Assistant for LSD (Lincoln, Stevenson, and Douglas Halls) and says that the job has helped him say accountable for his actions.

When asked how EIU faculty members have been helpful, Tucker responded with, "EIU faculty professors have always been my best resource for discussing my future career plans. EIU faculty staff have taught me leadership skills. Professors and staff alike have always been influential mentors to me."

However, you cannot receive help from the faculty if you do not ask questions, his advice for #FuturePanthers. "Ask questions! You're not expected to know everything when you get here, but asking the question is the first step to learning what you need to know!"
