Kassandra Amaya
Meet Kassandra Amaya, this week’s #ResidentOfEIU!
Kassandra is from Waukegan, Illinois and is majoring in Elementary Education, with a minor in Spanish.
Kassandra is a Sophomore who works as a Resident Assistant at Pemberton Hall. She is also part of the University board’s special events committee, Amigos and Friends. Kassandra is also an active member Alpha Psi Lambda, and their Secretary. Previously, she also served as the Sustainability coordinator for Lawson Hall’s executive board, and was part of the Latin American Student Organization.
When asked about her experience living on campus, Kassandra says: “I love living on campus because EIU is a beautiful campus and it makes the walk to class very enjoyable. Living on campus has allowed me to make connections and gain friendships. It’s fun to see a familiar face every time I walk to class or at the Dining Halls!”
“My advice to future panthers is to definitely get involved and find an RSO that becomes their “home away from home” because it’ll help with homesickness.” she says.
[Kassandra, it’s a pleasure having a Panther who is so passionate about campus involvement and developing bonds. We are so excited to hear about all your successes as a teacher. Thank you for making us a better community through all your efforts!]
