Dead Rooks In A Hail Storm

I should point out that the wood the rooks are hanging from was ' T ' shaped, I added the bit at the top in photoshop to make it look like a cross. I've seen pictures like this but never with my own eyes, I can't believe this still happens, there were several more like this in the field. With the grey skies behind, the gale force wind and then the heavens opening with a savage hail storm it was almost a biblical scene. The farmers who own this field used to take part in hare coursing ' events ' back when it was legal and I've seen them with their lurchers in these fields so many times, whenever they've seen my camera though they call the dogs to them and scarper so I've never got anything incriminating enough to go to the police. It's by no means just them though, I used to spend a lot of time here and they came to recognise the car, I've had people after hares with their dogs actually run away when they've seen me and one guy tried to hide his car behind a hedge. Someone must have seen me photographing these poor rooks and when I got back to the car some guy pulled up in a car right in front of ours, pretty obvious I was supposed to be intimidated but I just drove off. Weirdly though the same thing happened at a different place last night, I'd been looking for muntjacs in a patch of woodland which might be private but there's a path, no signs or a fence to keep people out. Anyway it was almost dark and I was about to pull out in the car when some bloke ( who was obviously a pheasant shootist knob ) pulled up right in front of me in some big 4 X 4, got out and started pointing at me and shouting something, I knew if I got out I would end up ( at best ) having a blazing row with him so I just drove off. I wish I'd got out the car, I feel like a right chicken.

Everyone goes to great length to say not all farmers are bloodthirsty killers but they are around here, it's incredibly depressing at times, especially with the spectre of fox hunting returning ever present, grrrrrrr.......
