1965 Chevrolet Impala Convertible

The 1965 Chevrolet was all new, the front leant forward, it got a new interior and coil suspension.

4 door sedan and wagon, 2 and 4 door hardtops and convertible.

Base model Biscayne (twin round tail lights)

Mid spec, Bel Air (twin round tail lights, Australia triple, chrome side trim)

Top model; Impala (triple round tail lights, more elaborate side trim) Caprice option.

Performance; Impala SS (425hp 409 V8)

Engines; 230 6 cyl, 283, 327 and 396 V8

From 1965, GMH Australia commenced assembling CKD RHD four door hardtop Chevrolet Impalas and Pontiac Parisiennes from GM in Canada, while continuing to assemble conventional Impala, Bel Air and Parisienne Sedans.

SKD Impalas were also assembled at Todd Motors in New Zealand, Pontiac Laurentians at Dominion Motors, bodies already painted and trimmed in Canada.
