The BMC ADO16 range of cars were front wheel drive with an east/west engine.
1962-71 Morris 1100; horizontal bar grille, Traveller Estate from 1966.

Upmarket models were the Wolseley, Riley, MG and Vanden Plas 1100s (1275cc engine from 1967)
The 1967 Mk II Morris and Austin 1100 got a wider grille and flatter taillights.
The 1967 Morris and Austin 1300 had different grilles, 3 groups of 3 bars on the Morris and 4 groups of 2 bars on the Austin.

From 1964, the Morris 1100 was also built in Australia, stronger with better seats. The 1967 Morris S got the 1275cc engine. Available from 1969 was the 1300 and 1500 4 door Saloons and the Nomad 5 door Hatchback.
In New Zealand, from 1964, the Morris 1100 was assembled at Dominion Motors, the Austin 1100 at Austin Distributors, then from 1971, both at NZMC.
