1975 Mazda RX-4 Coupe
The second generation Mazda Luce, the LA2, was built from 1972-77, export cars were the 929 and the rotary powered Mazda RX-4. Available as a 2 door Hardtop, 4 door sedan and 5 door station wagon.
The RX4was made available to Australians in four-door sedan and two-door coupe versions. A choice of a 4-speed manual gearbox and a 3-speed automatic gearbox was available for the sedan, whereas the Coupe was only available with a 4-speed manual transmission. The sedan was equipped with a flatter nose and dashboard than those on the coupe, which was equipped with an aggressive pointed nose, cockpit-style dashboard, and a more personalised interior.
In 1974, the 70kw 12A Rotary engine was replaced by the more powerful 85kw 13B
For the facelifted LA3 model from 1976, only one front design was used, one with a more square design.
