British automaker Bentley was founded in 1919 by W.O.Bentley. Rolls Royce took over Bentley in 1931. From 1946 Rolls Royce and Bentley shared bodies with just minor differences to grilles etc.
Replacing the T series Bentleys was the Mulsanne, it was built from 1980-92 and then again from 2010. They shared most features with the Rolls Royce Silver Spirit / Silver Spur including the 6750cc Rolls Royce V8 engine. Also the highly polished walnut veneered fascia, blemish-free leather and carpets and headlining of pure wool for the interior.
The rectangular headlamps from the 1980s gave way to quad round units for 1989
A more powerful turbocharged option was available from 1982, from 1985 was called the Turbo R, a fuel injected version. Mulsanne S, the non Turbo version of the new Turbo R (alloy wheels, sports suspension)
