1971 Ford XY Falcon GTHO Sedan

The XY Falcon was built from Oct 1970- March 1972, the XY got a new divided plastic grille and revised tail lights. The GT, featured the famous 'shaker' that protruded through the bonnet. Mechanically the XY was very similar to the XW

An HO version was also available, with front spoiler, the old Phase 2 engine was carried over from the XW which had 750 cfm carb, solid camshaft, lifters, bigger pushrods.

From May 1971 to Nov 1971, 300 Phase 3 GTHOs were made, they got extractors, 780cfm carb, a revised camshaft and harmonic balancer producing 380bhp, 3 diff ratios were available to choose from.

Allan Moffat won the Hardie Ferodo 500 again in 1971, this time in a XY GTHO Phase III.

Engine; 300hp 351 cu in Cleveland (Phase III; 350-380hp)

1557 XY GTs and 300 XY GTHOs were made, 19 GTs and 8 HOs exported to NZ.
