British automaker Bentley was founded in 1919 by W.O.Bentley. Rolls Royce took over Bentley in 1931. From 1946 Rolls Royce and Bentley shared bodies with just minor differences to grilles etc.
The 1965-80 T Series Bentleys replaced the S Series, now with a lower set body, disc brakes and independent rear suspension, replacing the outdated live axle design.
Very little differed from the Rolls-Royce equivalent, the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, the Bentley had slightly lower bonnet and a simpler and lighter grille.
The 1977, T2 Bentley and the Silver Shadow II updates got rack and pinion steering, bumpers were changed from all chrome to alloy and rubber, also the small grilles mounted beneath the headlamps were deleted.
