1954 Triumph TR2 Roadster
Triumph was purchased by the Standard Motor Company in 1945, from 1959 was known as Standard Triumph. Purchased by Leyland Motors in 1960, which became British Leyland in 1968.
The Triumph TR range of Sports cars were built between 1953 and 1981.
1952 Triumph TR1 (20TS) was a prototype, chassis from the Standard 8 and 1991cc engine from the Standard Vanguard.
1953 TR2 had better looks; a simple ladder-type chassis; a longer body; and a bigger boot.
The 1955 TR3 got more power, improved braking and a new grille. Optional removable hardtop,
1957 TR3a got a wider grille and exterior door handles.
