Van Raden Industries' "The Can-Man"
A Portland Oregon based manufacturer who specializes in equipment manufacturing, now mainly focusing on specialty trailers and tag/drop axles for trucks, many of which are on garbage trucks all over the road today, tried their hand in automated front load equipment. Named "The Can-Man", to the best of my knowledge it was marketed from roughly 1997 to 2006 as those are the dates of the name being trademarked and then the cancellation of said trademark.
Seen here in March of 1996 paired to an already 9 year old Peterbilt 310 Amrep Octo front loader collecting a 40 gallon RMI cart.
I know where one of these is today in perfect condition, however it is not used. It is where I learned of these and what brought me to dig through the internet to find this photo, which turned out to be on their Facebook.. go figure. Visit their page if you're interested in what they do today.
