ESBERN SNARE(F341)
Built as HMS BLACKMORE a Type II HUNT Class Escort Destroyer ordered from Alex. Stephens of Govan, Glasgow on 20th Dec. 1939 with 15 others of this Type under the 1939 War Emergency Programme. The ship was laid down as Job No J1479 on 10th February 1941. The ship was launched on 2nd December 1941, with build being completed on 14th April 1942.

[u]Post War Service[/u]
HMS BLACKMORE was deployed at Singapore until nominated for return to UK to pay off into Reserve. The ship sailed from Trincomalee 8th October 1945. and on arrival at Plymouth he paid off Devonport on arrival and was laid up there in Reserve Fleet until 1952. After being placed on the Sales List she was transferred to Denmark on 18th July 1952. After refitting she joined the Danish Navy as a Frigate and was renamed ESBERN SNARE. This ship was in Danish naval service until 1966 when stricken from the Active List.
