Sea of Gold
A lone oak is surrounded by a sea of golden sunflowers near Putah Creek, just south of Davis.
The sunflower fields around here this year have been some of the best yet, yellow and gold as far as you can see.
This field was right next to a levee road, giving a beautiful vantage point over the flowers. Each time I came out this week there'd been 10-20 groups of people stopping by. But this evening, the only one with clouds at sunset, there were only three of us out. Probably because it was still over 100º and humid. It was the most I've sweated in a long time but worth it.
