Aberdeen Afterlife (566)

Aberdeen buses have a reputation for passing to Scotland East after withdrawal in the granite city in a tradition dating back to the Atlanteans over 20 years ago when it was Midland Bluebird.

One of the earlier withdrawals from Aberdeen was the short lived Scania L94 fleet delivered between 1998-9. These were withdrawn in 2001 and swapped for similar aged Volvo B10BLEs with Glasgow and Manchester. Those with Glasgow have now been withdrawn while Manchester has cascades there's out to lower margin operations.

Scotland East now have 565/6, the latter now in the Central area operations and seen here on the 24 to Glasgow in Bannockburn.

When these were new they were used on the 22 and select runs on the 12, 14/15, 19 to provide some low floor operation for wheelchair users and to provide better competition on routes that Stagecoach competed on the main corridor.

566 must be coming the end of its life and must be a candidate for withdrawal when Scotland East undoubtedly receives more Aberdeen cast off B10BLEs when the Wright Streetlites are delivered later in the financial year.
