Vivid Sydney 2025

Last night at 6.00pm in Sydney.

The opening of the Vivid Sydney Lightshow - 2025.

Photographed from the Cahill Walkway on the Sydney Harbour Bridge (just next to the south-eastern pylon).

I only just managed to get there in time. I left work early at 5.00pm but then had to travel from Chatswood to Lavender Bay. But as luck would have it, Mowbray Road was a traffic nightmare, and then the Pacific Highway was super slow all the way down to the harbour.

Anyway, I got to Lavender Bay at 5.40pm which gave me only 20 minutes to get down to Milsons Point and then sprint across the harbour bridge to get a spot in front of the Opera House.

I managed to jostle an army of Asian photographers out of the way to secure a spot along the guard rail, alongside three gorgeous young women from Spain. (I am going to Madrid very soon, lol)

And interestingly I met two young couples who had come all the way from Phoenix, Arizona (USA) to be on the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the start of Vivid 2025. I talked to them about how I love cactus plants, lol. There are lots of cacti in Arizona.

My Canon EOS 5D Mk IV with the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L IS USM lens.

Processed in Adobe Lightroom.
