Love Me Do
My dark red 'Oklahoma' hybrid tea-rose.
A secret treasure in my rose garden here in the Hills District of Sydney. 'Oklahoma' is a super fragrant rose.
Photographed duing one of the summer thunderstorms that have besieged Sydney in recent times.

So here are 'The Beatles' with their mega famous song 'Love Me Do' released in 1963. It was the band's first ever song!!

AND, amazingly, 1963 was the very year that the rose 'Oklahoma' was born - created by Herbert Swim and O. L. Weeks at the Oklahoma State University, in the USA.
It is my Miss 17's most favourite rose. And she also sings 'Love Me Do', even though the lyrics are from 1963, and a lifetime away from her world of Tik Tok and ChatGPT.
But the simple message of love transcends time and resonates with her as she begins her own quest for love!!
"Love me do
Someone to love
Somebody new
Someone to love
Someone like you"
- by John Lennon & Paul McCartney
