Palm Beach, Sydney

View of Palm Beach looking south from the Barrenjoey headland. This is one of Sydney's northern beaches, and is absolutely my favourite beach in Sydney. Expeditions up the steep headland to the Barrenjoey lighthouse are a great feature of any trek to Palm Beach. When my son was little we would hike to this very spot and have lunch thinking that we were pirates on Treasure Island, before descending from the headland on the wickedly narrow but glamorously scenic 'Smugglers Track'.
