I asked the following question on the Dead Memories Portland Facebook group:

 

"Is it possible that these little houses were made from re-purposed scrapped 1950s-era streetcars? The roof looks similar in this (attached) photo from 1953. (image from the book "Portland's Streetcars" by Richard Thompson, via Google Books)"

 

and commenter Dan replied:

 

"Indeed- judging from the arched windows, they are former Oregon Electric cars. The Oregon Electric's Porter Street yards were near the Ross Island Bridge. Not all that far to have to have hauled them to the area that would later become South Auditorium Urban Renewal."
