Fancy Colorful Scoter
Finally, the male Surf Scoter appears before me. There were lots of females last year but I saw no males... and of course, the male is the fancy one.
I'm not quite sure why I'm so fascinated with this duck. I've seen black ducks. I've seen bills in red, orange, yellow and white... perhaps not like this.
The body is black like a Coot but something about it makes it look more "luxurious". It's very pretty.
