No Volcanic Sunset

I hurried down to my local the other evening, spurred on by the tv vulcanologist promising spectacular sunsets while the ash cloud sits over Britain.

In the end the event turned out to be far less spectacular than many of the sunsets we get here under normal weather conditions but I was pleased to find this shapely rock formation. I shall return tonight in the hope of something better and try to use provia which I find renders sunsets far more naturally than velvia.

Photographed using my GF1 I sadly didn't have time to set up my Ebony before all the light had gone. I was fortunate however that a series of waves broke over the rock during this 8 second exposure.

Panasonic Lumix GF1. iso 200. Lee .75/81b combination grad and Lee .6 very hard.
