Looking for grizzlies, Prince Rupert
There's a couple of ways you can try to see a grizzly from PR. You can take a boat (the cheaper option) or float plane up to the Khutzeymateen sanctuary where the bears hang out. Neither of these options actually gets you into the sanctuary, but since the bears are free to roam there is a chance you will see one on the shoreline outside.
The float plane has a base (Palmerville) on the inlet, but the boat takes a couple of hours from PR, following the route shown. We only saw one grizzly. As it was inside the sanctuary we couldn't get too close.
