Is het de crisis of breken er gewoon nieuwe tijden aan voor stijlliefhebbers in Amsterdams duurste winkelstraat?
De DAF 46 anno 2014 midden in de wereld van luxe wereldmerken is een statement op zich. Weg met die PC-tractoren, maar een nuchtere Nederlandse auto die zijn internationale afkomst niet verloochent: het Italiaanse Michelotti-ontwerp. Hij doorstaat met gemak het "verleidelijk ontwerp" van de Jaguar XJ met z'n "intuïtieve technologie en opwindende prestaties" die omgerekend misschien wel vijftig keer meer kost dan de vier wielen die in 1975 uit de fabriek in Born rolden en waar VDL in opdracht van BMW auto's van het merk Mini fabriceert.

He is easily beats the "seductive design" of the Jaguar XJ with its "intuitive technology and exhilarating performance" that costs probably fifty times more than these four wheels that rolled out of the Dutch DAF factory in 1975 located in the Dutch town of Born, the very same factory that produces the famous Mini models for BMW.
